What is a memecoin launchpad?

Updated Sep 28, 2026

A platform that lets anyone create and launch a token, typically with a standard contract and automatic pricing, then moves it to a regular exchange pool once it reaches a threshold.

A launchpad lets anyone create a token in a few clicks. The token gets a standard contract and starts trading right away. Many launchpads price new tokens on a bonding curve. When a token reaches a set threshold, it graduates to a regular decentralised exchange pool.

Why launchpads dominate memecoins

Standard contracts remove some classic contract risks, such as hidden mint functions on well-known launchpads. Instant trading means tokens can be created and traded within seconds. That made launchpads the main source of new memecoins on Solana, and now on Robinhood Chain.

What launchpads don't protect you from

A standard contract doesn't stop bundled launches, snipers, wash trading or insiders selling into buyers. Most launchpad tokens never graduate. In June 2026 only 0.26% of pump.fun launches did.
