What is a deployer wallet?

Updated Sep 28, 2026

The wallet that created a token's contract. Its history is one of the strongest risk signals. That includes its past launches, how fast it sold and where its money came from.

The deployer, often called the dev wallet, is the address that created a token's smart contract. On launchpads it's the wallet that pressed "create".

Why its history matters

Serial launchers often use the same wallets, or wallets funded from the same source, again and again. A deployer with a trail of tokens that collapsed within an hour is a strong warning sign. Research on pump.fun found that the top 1% of address clusters created 58.6% of all coins.

What to check

  • Past launches. How many, and what happened to them?
  • Selling behaviour. Did the deployer sell its allocation soon after launch?
  • Funding. Where did the wallet's gas money come from, and is that source linked to other deployers?
  • Current holdings. Does the deployer or its linked wallets still hold supply?

Amplified's Token Check links a deployer to its past launches and to related wallets.
